After completing my primary and high school education in Iskenderun, I completed my medical education in Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and completed my medical education in 2005. Due to my interest in general surgery, I completed my general surgery education in 2010, which I started in Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital 3rd General Surgery Clinic in 2005. After completing my state service obligation in Afyonkarahisar State Hospital, I started to work as a specialist in Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital General Surgery Clinic in 2012, I received the title of associate professor in 2020 and I am still working here.

- I started to have breast pain, I didn't have it before, could I have breast cancer?

In general, breast pain is not related to breast cancer. Since it is an organ that is mostly affected by hormone changes in the body, periodic pain may occur. However, if we say this in reverse, none of the breast cancer patients complain of breast pain.

- My ultrasound result showed granulomatous mastitis, what should I do?

Granulomatous mastitis is a pathological diagnosis, so it cannot be diagnosed without a biopsy, only suspected. Therefore, if the ultrasound shows such a suspicion, a biopsy is necessary.

- After the ultrasound, they wanted to take a biopsy from the breast, if there is cancer, won't it spread?

In general, we do not expect this kind of spread in breast cancer, we take biopsies even in patients who we almost certainly think have cancer. The common belief in the society that "if the knife touches it, it will spread" is generally wrong. The types of tumors that are expected to spread with transplantation have been defined long ago and their biopsies and surgeries are different. There is no such expectation in breast cancer.

- They said I have thyroid cancer and it has spread to my neck, what should I do?

First of all, thyroid cancer surgery requires some additions to normal thyroid surgery. Since it requires the removal of the thyroid and lymph nodes around the neck, which we call neck dissection, it should be performed by an experienced thyroid surgeon. If you come by appointment, we can plan your surgery by looking at your tests.

- My parathormone level is very high, I keep dropping kidney stones, what should I do?

The most common cause of elevated parathormone without renal failure is parathyroid adenomas. Their surgery requires experience as they are very small structures and very difficult to find during surgery. If you make an appointment and come, we can make your evaluation.
